2021 the 4th International Conference on Big Data Management was originally intended to be held in Shenzhen, China during Feb. 26- Mar. 1, 2021 as the workshop of ICMLC 2021. However, due to the uncertainty and stricter travel restrictions caused by the global pandemic, the safety and well-being of all conference participants is our priority. After evaluating the current COVID-19 situation, the decision has been made to transform the in-person component of ICMLC 2022 into a full virtual conference experience.
Online check in and test for all participants was arranged on Feb. 26, 2021. And in the morning of February 27, 2021, Prof. Tianrui Li, Vice Dean of Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, Southwest Jiaotong University, China served as the host to chair the morning plenary session. Firstly, Conference Chair: Prof. Jianqiang Li, Vice Dean of College Computer Science and Software Engineering, Shenzhen University, China made the Welcome Message to welcome all participants to attend the conference. Then another Conference Chair: Prof. Lin Huang, Metropolitan State University of Denver, USA delivered the Opening Remarks to introduce the conference program, data, etc.
Then, Prof. Nikola Kasabov, IEEE Fellow, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand & Ulster University, UK, Prof. Alex X. Liu, IEEE Fellow, Michigan State University, USA, Prof. Shuanghua Yang, IET Fellow, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of Graduate School, Southern University of Science and Technology, China, and Prof. Assaf Schuster, ACM Fellow & IEEE Fellow, Israel Institute of Technology, Israel delivered keynote speeches to share their latest researches, related to: Neuromorphic Computation for Explainable Machine Learning: Methods, Systems, Applications; Machine Learning Approach to Human Activity Recognition with WiFi Signals; Deep Learning in Industrial Process Monitoring; Recent Advances in Processing Massive Data Streams, etc.
After plenary session, there were 10 technical sessions. The topics were related to New Generation Neural Network and Application Technology, Computer Theory and Technology, Computer Science and Information Engineering, Computer Model and Calculation, Algorithm Design and Mathematical Calculation, Intelligent Recognition Technology, Data Engineering and Information Technology, Machine Learning and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and Application, etc. After sessions ends, 2 best student paper awards, and several best presenter awards were selected based on papers' content, presentation skill, etc.
Finally, at the end of conference, Conference Co-Chair: Prof. Shuanghua Yang, Southern University of Science and Technology, China announce the awards and delivered the closing remarks to end the conference.
